Engagement

One engagement covers:

  • one professional or firm category;
  • one accepted set of criteria;
  • the applicable research request; and
  • one resulting list.
Client Direction

The client determines:

  • the professional or firm category;
  • the criteria;
  • what criteria matter most; and
  • what to do with the resulting list.
Regestara Actions

Regestara may:

  • receive written instructions;
  • research factual information;
  • organize the results;
  • assemble the list; and
  • deliver the list.
List Presentation

Regestara delivers the list without Regestara branding, logos, or other attribution identifying Regestara as the source or preparer.

The absence of Regestara branding or attribution does not create or imply confidentiality, anonymity, secrecy, or a non-disclosure obligation, and does not constitute a promise that Regestara’s involvement will remain unknown.

Regestara does not control what the client separately discloses, what another person may already know, or what another person may independently determine or infer about the source or preparation of the list.

No Recommendation

The list does not constitute:

  • recommendation;
  • endorsement;
  • ranking;
  • scoring;
  • comparison;
  • referral;
  • suitability determination;
  • professional advice; or
  • assurance that a professional or firm will accept the matter.

Regestara does not provide legal, medical, financial, therapeutic, investigative, or other professional advice or services through an engagement.

Wrongdoing Context

Regestara may accept requests concerning wrongdoing that is reported, alleged, investigated, charged, adjudicated, or otherwise documented.

Regestara does not independently determine:

  • whether the conduct occurred;
  • guilt;
  • innocence;
  • liability;
  • credibility;
  • victim status;
  • witness status; or
  • the merits of the underlying matter.
Eligibility and Scope

Regestara may rely on information provided by the client in determining whether a request falls within Regestara’s service scope.

Regestara may decline a request, or suspend or terminate an engagement that has not been completed, if information available to Regestara reasonably indicates that the request falls outside that scope, including where the professional assistance sought concerns wrongdoing attributed to the client rather than wrongdoing the client experienced or witnessed.

Regestara does not determine whether the attributed wrongdoing occurred, whether an allegation is true, or whether the client is legally or factually responsible for the conduct.

A client must not knowingly provide materially false or misleading information about the nature or context of a request in order to obtain an engagement.

Acceptable Use

A client must not use Regestara to facilitate, conceal, continue, or avoid accountability for wrongdoing attributed to the client.

Regestara may decline a request on that basis without independently determining whether the attributed conduct occurred.

Professional Relationships

The client independently decides whether to contact, evaluate, negotiate with, or retain any professional or firm.

Regestara does not participate in those activities.

Compensation

Regestara charges only fixed, non-contingent client fees.

Regestara does not accept success-based compensation, referral fees, commissions, indirect consideration, or compensation from professionals or firms for inclusion, placement, visibility, client contact, resulting engagements, professional fees, or outcomes.

Completion

Delivery of the list completes the engagement.

No continuing selection, referral, advisory, supervisory, or execution role remains afterward.
